I was stunned by this picture from the first glimpse on! It's not just a perfect example of great architectual photography, you also managed to add a surreal and artificial look here.
The technique and view is very good! The tiles on the floor drag the viewer in the image and focus the view on the main structure. It's lighted perfectly and its a wonderful example of modern architecture. It feels pretty lonely and isolated there, almost desolate - I love it! The black and white enhances the strange feeling of this room a lot! Lights and shadows are awesome - especially the illumination of the pillar is very well caught!
Just the stuff around the pillar distract a bit and look deplaced here. But it's certainly not your fault that they are there.
Thanks a lot for sharing this great picture with us! 4,5 out of 5 cool underground stations for this one!
"Raumpatrouille Orion" was THE sci-fi series of my childhood (1965/66), and I still love it, especially for the implements they used ( flat iron, water-tap, yoghurt cup...) to create the futuristic atmosphere.
I am reminded of a part of the DC Metro... somewhere in Maryland I think, who reminds me more of a StarTrek set than anything else :-D ... Then there's that one part of the Philadelphia subway that just screams "Total Recall" :-D
